Davie Released Mugshot Records
A mugshot is a law-enforcement booking photograph. North Carolina law authorizes photography for specified charged, detained, committed, or convicted people, but it does not create a simple universal disclosure and retention rule for every image. The record's classification can depend on how the agency keeps it, an expunction or sealing order, juvenile restrictions, an investigation, or another court order.
Release does not erase the booking event or turn the image into proof of a case result. Bond can return a person to the community while the case continues. A charge can later be dismissed, reduced, or resolved. The eCourts register and Clerk record provide that legal context. A booking image should always be tied to the booking identifier, not matched by appearance or a similar name alone.
The Davie court register can outlast the jail's online photo display. Search the case by party or case number, limit it to Davie when appropriate, and read bond events, disposition, judgment, sentence, and later orders. A court date is only a scheduled event. It cannot establish conviction, dismissal, or the time the detention center processed release.
Find Davie County Released Mugshots
Each photo channel represents a different record system. Start with an official source and use the same booking or offender number across follow-up checks. A state correction image is not a substitute for the Davie jail photograph.
| Channel | Photo availability | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| Davie Sheriff portal | The result template can show Mugshot beside Release Date. | Search the applicable release date and open the matched booking. |
| Davie records request | An existing retained booking image may be requested. | Identify the person, booking number, and date; request the discrete image. |
| NCDAC offender profile | A state offender photograph may appear. | Search by state offender number or carefully matched identity. |
| Davie Sheriff app | No photo or inmate module is promised in the store listing. | Verify the installed menu before relying on it. |
| Sheriff news | Selected incident posts may contain a photograph. | Treat news as selective communication, not a complete release list. |
| Private and news copies | A copy may remain after release or a record change. | Use it only as a lead to official identifiers and current records. |
The official Davie Sheriff portal is the primary online source for a released local booking.
The captured view supports the county-specific method: filter by Release Date, then match the photograph and release row to the same booking.
Davie Mugshot and Release Pairing
Davie's portal can place Mugshot and Release Date in the same result. That is an unusually direct official path to a photo connected with a released booking. The surrounding fields can include Name, Race, Sex, age or date of birth, Cell Block, Arrest Date, Held For Agency, and hold information.
This pairing still requires care. A Release Date records an exit from the Davie facility. Held For Agency or the requested destination may show that the person moved to NCDAC, another county, USMS, or immigration custody. The image depicts the booking, not freedom from all custody. Charges and bond fields likewise do not establish the final court disposition.
The Sheriff has not published the portal's photo-retention period, archive depth, update cadence, or correction procedure. A missing photo may reflect the web display, a protected or expunged record, a lag, or the way that booking was entered. It does not show that no photograph ever existed.
A same-day portal search is explained on the Davie County Released Last 24 Hours page, including the limits of calendar filtering and release timing.
Request Davie County Booking Photos
If the portal does not show the needed image, request the discrete existing booking photograph rather than an unlimited file. The Davie County public-record request page routes the request through the County Attorney and custodian. Narrow identifiers help staff locate the image without being asked to create a new report.
- Provide the full name, date of birth or another safe identifier, booking number if known, and a narrow booking date range.
- Ask for the existing booking photograph tied to that booking, plus the booking/release sheet if it is needed to establish the image's context.
- Request the record in its existing electronic format. Ask for the release or movement time, type, and receiving agency if the photo is being matched to a release.
- If the image or a field is withheld, ask for the written legal basis and release of any nonexempt remainder.
- Confirm current copy cost before ordering. No special fixed Davie booking-photo fee was found.
Davie policy allows inspection of nonprotected records at reasonable times and copies after applicable payment. Its two-business-day provision describes internal custodian options, not guaranteed final delivery to the requester. The County may approve a reasonable special service charge for extensive technology, clerical, or supervisory work.
The policy also distinguishes a request for an existing record from a demand that staff answer a question or build a new file. Ask for the photo in the format already maintained. If the booking image is part of a larger record, the custodian may need to review protected content, but that does not remove the value of asking for segregable nonexempt parts.
Davie State Offender Photographs
NCDAC's public offender profile may show a photograph for someone who served in state prison or is in state community supervision. Search by offender number when possible. Otherwise compare full name, aliases, date of birth or age, county of conviction, docket, offense, and custody dates before selecting a profile.
The state photo and Davie booking photo belong to different custody records. NCDAC expressly excludes county-jail-only stays. A person transferred from Davie to state prison may have both kinds of image, and they may come from different dates. The state profile's incarceration status, Actual Release Date, last movement, and supervision fields explain the state boundary.
NC SAVAN/VINELink can report a person-level custody event, but no universal photo field should be promised because dynamic results differ by supplying agency. Use it to cross-check status and notifications, not as the primary Davie booking-photo archive.
Davie Sheriff App Photo Limits
Davie County has an official Sheriff mobile app. Its public store description confirms agency communication, tip reporting, public-safety news, and related updates. It does not promise an inmate search, recent-release list, or mugshot gallery. The installed app may evolve, so its current menu must be checked before anyone is sent there for a photograph.
The official Davie Sheriff app listing shows that documented scope.
The listing supports treating the app as a secondary communications channel. The web portal remains the verified official route where Mugshot and Release Date can appear together.
Davie Sheriff news and event posts can contain incident photos, but the posts are selective. They are not a complete arrest, booking, or release dataset. A press photograph may also differ from the jail booking image.
Private Davie Mugshot Copies
Private aggregators and news archives may retain a photograph after release, dismissal, correction, or expunction. Their continued publication does not prove present custody, guilt, or the current state of the official record. No commercial mugshot publisher should outrank the Sheriff, NCDAC, or court record.
Use a private copy, if encountered, only to recover an official identifier or locate the originating agency. Then confirm the booking and case. Do not pay a removal vendor on the assumption that North Carolina law guarantees a specific result. No commercial or pay-to-remove service is endorsed, and none is linked here.
The Davie County released inmate record paths help verify the booking, custody movement, and court result behind a photo. A picture without those records is weak evidence.
Davie Mugshot Removal Law
North Carolina has no verified enacted anti-pay-to-remove booking-photo statute as of the research date. House Bill 778 proposed restrictions and removal rules, passed the House, and was referred to Senate Rules, but it did not become law. Its proposed deadlines and remedies cannot be presented as current rights.
Chapter 132 broadly defines public records and gives access to nonexempt records, while G.S. 132-1.4 treats criminal-investigation material differently and makes specified basic arrest information public. Those provisions do not settle the classification of every associated photograph. G.S. 15A-502 authorizes booking photography, but its narrow roadside-photo destruction provision is not a general deletion rule for ordinary jail mugshots.
Expunction is statute-specific. Eligibility and the agencies affected depend on the charge, outcome, age, record, and legal route. An order can alter government availability, but it does not automatically erase copies already held by private publishers. If an official photo remains after an applicable order, contact the agency with the order and matched booking information.
Retention is separate from public web display. North Carolina records management law prevents destruction outside an authorized schedule, while the applicable schedule varies by record. A photo that disappears from the Sheriff portal may still be retained by the custodian. A record lawfully destroyed after its retention term cannot be recreated, and a litigation hold can suspend ordinary destruction.
Note: Ask the Sheriff for written authority when an image is withheld, and use current court guidance for any expunction question.
